Lloyd's L78-D Behind-The-Ear hearing aid is the smallest BTE aid we offer. This hearing aid is good for mild to moderate degrees of hearing loss. What sets it apart from some of our other hearing aids is the fact that is equipped with dual microphones. With two mics a hearing aid becomes capable of detecting the directionality of sounds. Voices and sounds located in front of a person will be more accentuated. Sounds to your side and rear will be more diminished. Generally speaking, a person is more focused on what they are looking at, and this hearing aid helps enhance that focus.
The L78-D is a basic conventional analog hearing aid and uses the size #13 battery. This hearing aid features a volume control as well as an M-T-O switch (microphone/telephone/off). The middle position of the switch is a special setting for telephone use. Another nice feature of the L78-D hearing aid is the two adjustment trimpots of tone and AGC (automatic gain control). The tone control makes the hearing aid become either more "full bodied" of a sound (more bass) or else more high-frequency. We use this hearing aid quite a bit for moderate high-frequency hearing losses. The AGC control will dampen down loud sounds, keeping the user in their comfortable listening zone. The manual trimpots are easily accessed and simple to adjust should a person desire to do some of their own fine tuning adjustments (although we do preset the hearing aid for an individual's hearing loss according to the information provided). Everything needed to wear this hearing aid right out of the box is included at no extra charge. There is a one year warranty on the L78-D hearing aid.
